Newsletter for June, 2010
Hi , David and I are staying at Raven and the weather hasn't been too bad. We've gotten rain but we really needed it and it has brought the lakes back up a bit. In fact we had to move the piers in toward shore at Sowden because they were beginning to go under water.
The fishing has been a little tougher than usual with the mayfly hatch but if you check out the photos on our fishing page you'll see that Caleb and Pat weren't having any problems. Others have been catching large fish but they forget to take their cameras along and then they release the fish so I have no proof and I don't know whether I should believe them or not. LOL
Gordie and Cindy, our new managers at Sowden, are really getting broken in. With cleaning cabins, mowing lawn, cutting up trees that fell in the terrible wind storm we had on the 18th and just doing the everyday tasks that come with managing a resort, they'll probably be ready to quit before August!!!
Don and Joanie our managers at Raven are still going strong. They're old pros at the job now and last year Don cut up enough firewood for our campfires to last a couple years! Don has been out fishing when he gets a chance and the other evening he said the walleye were biting like mad. Of course no pictures again and he released everything so do I believe him or not?
So, if I can get people to take pictures I'll be sure to put them on our web site so that you all can enjoy them.
